Our Goals

“Del Valle Fine Arts is a nonprofit community service organization whose purpose is to provide high quality music performances to the Tri-Valley area and to encourage classical music appreciation in school children.”

In 1976, as Livermore began expanding from its agricultural roots, a committee of 27 citizens formed with the purpose of funding a piano for Livermore High School.  The funding drive launched with a concert by the Ohlone Community String Orchestra.

After successfully purchasing the piano for the school, the committee rebranded as Del Valle Fine Arts in 1978 with a goal of purchasing another piano for the community.  An inaugural piano recital took place in April 1978 in the town Senior center, and the new piano enabled new forms of community music making.  The first concert “season” started in November 1978, bringing chamber music to the Tri-Valley.

Now in its 49 season, DVFA continues with the same goal of providing access to music to our community through:

 -          Providing high quality chamber music to the Tri-Valley area

 -          Ensuring a diverse set of concerts each season, exposing our audience to various classical genres

 -          Bringing musical education to students in the local schools

 -          Ensuring accessibility by offering complimentary tickets to youth and discounted tickets to underrepresented groups
