St. Petersburg Quartet
One of the finest string ensembles performing today, the St. Petersburg String Quartet makes a welcome return to our concert series (their previous, acclaimed performances for Del valle Fine Arts were in 1985 and 2005). Founded in 1985 as the Leningrad String Quartet, they instantly garnered recognition as an important musical force, and their prowess remains exceptional. Their upcoming season includes concerts in New York City (at Carnegie Hall), Los Angeles, England, France, and Mexico; in the past they have toured throughout the United States and internationally. Awards have included a Grammy nomination and "Best Record" honors in both Stereo Review and Gramophone.

In 2009 they launched their own International Music Academy, an intensive summer program for students, and in 2010 they were apointed the inaugural quartet in residence at Wichita State University.
