Del
Valle Fine Arts takes pleasure in once again presenting the latest Gold
Medal winner of he prestigious Cleveland International Piano
Competition. This season it's 2009 medalist Martina Filjak.
A child prodigy in her native Croatia, Ms. Filjak made her debut
at age 12 with the Zagreb Soloists Chamber Orchestra. A graduate
of the Music Academy of Zagreb and the Vienna Conservatory, she has won
numerous competitions in addition to the Cleveland Piano Competition,
including first place at the 2007 International Viotti Piano
Competition, the 2008 Maria Canals International Competition in
Barcelona, and the 2001 International Johannes Brahms Competition.
This year she made her Carnegie Hall debut; upcoming events
include solo recitals and appearances with leading symhony orchestras
throughout Europe and the United States. Donald Rosenberg,
writing for the Cleveland Plain Dealer, says "Martina Filjak ... exudes
artistic finesse, discipline, and power. [She is] an adventurous
musician with exceptional command of keyboard possibilities."

for the concert are available at the Bankhead Theater ticket office at
2400 First Street, Livermore, CA. You can call the box office at
925-373-6800 or visit them on the web at
www.livermoreperformingarts.org. The box office is open Tuesday
through Saturday from noon to 6:00 PM, and on performance days starting
2 hours prior to performance time.
Individual tickets are $33, $27, or $21. Please note this concert is on Monday evening.
