Di Wu is clearly an artist on the rise. In June 2009 she was named one of the six finalists at the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, and in a 2008 Musical America feature on Young Artists, she was called “an up-and-coming talent.” Ms. Wu made her professional debut at age 14 with the Beijing Philharmonic, and then, after completing degrees from the Curtis Institute of Music and from Juilliard, made her solo debut in Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in 2005. She has toured extensively through the U.S. and Europe, specializing in works that are passionate, high-energy, and technically advanced. After a performance in California, Peninsula Reviews stated, “She played with an élan and virtuosity that was mesmerizing. The speed and accuracy of her playing was equal to any of the greatest pianists of the past.”
